Self-Reflection over Essay 1
For this first essay my main invention technique is mostly just brainstorming and writing multiple rough drafts. I've never been a big fan of drawing out my ideas into some kind of bubble format or diagram, I've always just started writing and then made edits along the way.
I used a lot of the feedback from my instructor because my rough draft was way off from what it was supposed to be. I ended up getting lost in the topic of my article instead of writing about the article itself and that caused me to completely lose focus on what I should've been writing about, and I am very glad my instructor pointed that out to me. This caused me to change A LOT from my rough draft to my final copy and really all I kept was my thesis statement.
The main issue I ran into was just misreading the assignment and going off and doing my own thing instead of properly responding to the essay I had chosen. As far as anything I'd do differently for the next major assignment, I really just need to make sure I understand what type of essay I'm writing before jumping headfirst into a topic again.
